I got my cat about 11 years ago in Turkey. I was never a cat person, I always had dogs and always thought cats were beautiful but that was it. A British friend of mine had adopted a kitten found on the street (the mother was dead) and I went to visit her and the little kitten waited until I put my coffee with milk down and put his little paw in it...it wasn't love at 1st sight!
Mi gato y yo tenemos 11 años juntos. Es un gato turco, que fue rescatado de las calles por una amiga britanica mientras las dos viviamos en Turquia. A mi me gustaron siempre los perros y no era amante de los gatos. Cuando fui a visitar a mi amiga este gatito impertinente salto en la mesa y metio su patita en mi taza de cafe con leche! No me causo muy buena impresion!
My friend had to go back to her country and begged me give the kitten a home. I agreed and ended up the owner of Pinky...who was supposed to be female, until 'she' started marking 'her' territory and the vet informed me 'she' was a 'he' and our cat became "Mr. Pinky." Cuando mi amiga regreso a su pais me pidio que me quedara con el gato. No estaba muy convencida, pero tampoco queria que lo echaran a la calle! Me converti en la dueña de Pinky, el cual pensabamos era hembra,,,hasta que un dia comenzo a marcar su territorio por todo nuestro apartamento! El veterinario me dijo que era varon y le cambiamos el nombre a "Mr" Pinky.

When it was time to leave Turkey I decided to bring Mr. Pinky with me. It wasn't an easy trip and he got sick as soon as we arrived (stress, the vet said) but he has had a great life so far and has been the most spoiled car ever until my son was born 2 1/2 years ago. Now Mr. Pinky has to run for his life (well, for the safety of his tail) at least once a day, but I think he's still happy to be with us!'
Cuando nos fuimos de Turquia, decidí traerme a Pinky. No fue un viaje facil y el pobre gato se enfermo tan pronto llegamos ('stress' segun el vet). Pero ha tenido una gran vida y ha sido el gato mas consentido del mundo hasta hace 2 1/2 años, cuando nació mi hijo. Ahora Mr. Pinky tiene que escapar y cuidar su cola, pero creo que todavia esta contento de estar con nosotros!
