Ham Bread!
Pan de Jamón!

INGREDIENTS:
• 1 ½ kilo of wheat flour
• 2 tablespoons fresh yeast (in grains or paste) or 100 grams of yeast paste
• 200 grams of butter or margarine
• 3 chicken eggs
• 175 grams sugar
• 1 tablespoon salt
• ½ pint of milk (cow) a little less
• 400 grams of smoked bacon

• 1 kilo of sliced ham (leg, back and / or smoked)

• 200 grams of raisins

• 200 grams of pitted green olives

• 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 1 tablespoon sugar, if you don’t have brown sugar, put 2 tablespoons of sugar instead of 1.

With this recipe you get 3 breads.

Divide into 3 parts raisins, ham, bacon and olives.

INGREDIENTES:

PREPARATION/ PREPARACION:

- In a bowl put 1 kilo of flour and break by hand yeast paste. If you use grains: In a small cup of water cast two spoonfuls of fresh yeast and let stand for four minutes.

- Melt the butter. Add the warm milk, butter, 2 eggs, sugar and salt and mix well; and then pour this mixture into the bowl where the flour is, mix everything by hand, without kneading, only mix well. If you used the yeast in grains, then add it at this moment too. Do not worry if the dough sticks to your hands, this is normal.

- Leave the ball of dough to rest for 35 minutes in a warm place and cover the bowl with a cloth.

- Slice olives. Soak raisins in water. Chop the bacon into small pieces. Beat one whole egg and pour the sugar and brown sugar; with this mixture we will paint the bread.

- After the 35 minutes we proceed to make the bread. Knead the dough, put more flour for kneading (this is what the other half a kilo of flour is for), then divide dough into 3 parts, take a piece and stretch it with a rolling pin (if you don’t have a roll, you can use a plastic bottle) and form a rectangle. On the rectangle put the ham, completely covering the dough so we can’t see the dough, on top of the ham put the bacon. Add the raisins and olives. Roll the rectangle to form a roll that later will be a bread. With a toothpick or a fork pinch to make a few small holes.

- With fingers fold both ends. Let stand the bread for 30 minutes before placing it in the oven, which we have already warmed to 250 °. Once you put the bread in the oven bring the temperature down to 180 °. When the bread has been in the oven 15 minutes, take it out and paint over with the mixture of sugar and egg.

- The bread will be ready in approximately 1 hour, but remember do not let it burn.
