Last year some of our team members participated in a noble cause called "One Million Pillowcase Challenge" by American Patchwork & Quilting. It was really beautiful to be able to participate in this great work. We had to make some pillow covers utilizing cotton fabric to donate them to a local charity.
El año pasado algunas compañeras del grupo participamos en una noble causa llamada " 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge" auspiciado por American Patchwork & Quilting. Fue muy bonito haber podido participar en esta gran obra. Tuvimos que hacer unas fundas (cubre almohadas) utilizando telas de algodón para ser donadas a una beneficencia local.
A funny thing about this challenge was that some of the teammates did not know how to sew very well, but they did it anyway. Not only that, but one of them had their mother in law participate and even her husband had to learn how to do it!
Lo bonito de este challenge fue de que algunas de mis compañeras no sabían coser muy bien. Y así y todo se lanzaron a esta nueva aventura. E incluso hicieron participar a la suegra y al marido que tuvo que aprender a coser también.
For a good cause you can make miracles.
Por una buena causa se pueden hacer milagros.
We donated 22 pillowcases. The lady from the quilt store where I dropped them was so happy to see our beautiful work.
En total donamos 22 fundas. La dueña de la tienda de acolchados (Quilt Store) donde tuve que ir a entregar la donación quedo muy contenta al ver nuestras hermosas fundas.
