How to make a fabric flower / Como hacer flores en tela

These flowers are very delicate. They are perfect for hair accessories, brooches, or to decorate your clothes or bags.

Estas flores tienen una apariencia delicada, y lo son! Perfectas para hacer accesorios para el cabello, broches, para decorar vestidos, carteras, bolsos y cinturones. Tu imaginación es el límite.

Supplies / Materiales que necesitarás

- Synthetic fabric - Tela sintética (preferiblemente organdí de seda)
- Scissors - Tijeras
- Needle and thread - Hilo y aguja
- A candle - Una vela
- Felt - Fieltro
- Beads or pearls - Cuentas o perlas
- Glue - Pegamento
- Bobby pin, clips, brooch, etc - Pasadores, presillas, broches, etc.

- Steps - Pasos a seguir:

- Cut the fabric in circles. It is better if you do squares first and the cut them into circles. Different sizes can be done like 1.5in, 2in or 3in. Smallest circles are difficult to burn and too big gets a little bit loose.

- Corte la tela en círculos. A mí se me hace más fácil cortar primero cuadrados, ya que corto mucha tela a la vez y luego hacer los círculos. Puedes hacer diferentes tamaños para formar capas luego, entre 1.5”, 2” y 3”. Muy pequeños son difíciles de quemar y muy grandes la tela tiende a no sostenerse.

- Then you have to burn the edges. Bring the fabric closer to the fire very carefully. Synthetic fabric burn fast. Once you have the technique you will see that the fabric gets the petals shape naturally.

- Luego hay que quemar los bordes de la tela, preferiblemente con una vela. Debes acercar la tela cuidadosamente al fuego, ya que las telas sintéticas tienden a prenderse en fuego y quemarse muy rápido. Una vez domines la técnica verás que la tela naturalmente se encoge en forma de pétalo.

- Choose the petal combination, beads and back accessory for your flower. Begin sewing petals together, then the beads and finally the back piece.

- Escoge la combinación de pétalos, de cuentas y qué tipo de accesorio utilizarás para la parte de atrás. (por ej. Un pasador, un broche o la flor solo para coserla a una camisa o cartera.) Comienza cosiendo los pétalos juntos, haz un nudo y luego cose las cuentas termina en la parte posterior cosiendo el accesorio en este caso una presilla.

- If you choose to do a brooch or use a clip, cover the thread with a piece of felt with glue. If you choose a bobby pin just put a little bit of glue in the thread area.

- Si utilizaste una presilla o un broche, corta un pedazo del fieltro y pégalo justo encima de la costura. Si utilizaste un pasador solo aplica un poco de pegamento en el área de la costura.

- You are done!!!

Como hacer un mandil / How to make an apron Tutorial!

Materiales:
-Tela de tu gusto favorito. (aprox. 1 1/2 yd.)
-Bies de algun combinable a tu tela.
-Cinta de adorno
-Hilo
-Tijeras
-Maquina de coser
-Over lock ( si no tienes no hay problema)

Materials:
- Fabric of your favorite taste. (approx 1 1/2 yd.)
- Bias binding of some matched one to your fabric.
- Rick Rack lace
- Thread
- Scissors
- Sew machine
- Over Lock (if you do not have is no problem)

Necesitas cortar tu tela.
-Corta 2 piezas para los lazos de atadura (7 x 30 pulgadas).
-Corta 2 rectangulos para la banda para la cintura (21 x 3 pulgadas)
-Corta 1 rectangulo para la falda ( 36x19 pulgadas)
-Corta 1 banda del dobladillo ( 60x4 pulgadas)
-Corta 2 veces la figura que te guste para realizar el bolsillo.

- Coses el bies en la banda del dobladillo.
-You sew the bias on the band for the hem.

-Une los dos rectangulos de la banda de la cintura.
-Sew the both rectangular pieces of the band of the waist.

-Cierras cada una de las tiras de atadura y voltealas al derecho.
-You close each one of the strips of fastening and put on the correct side

-En cada extremo de la banda de la cintura, pega las tiras de atadura del mandil (aproximadamente 1 pulgada hacia adentro).
- Sew the two ties in the band waist in each side (approximately 1 inch inside).

-Une las dos partes del bolsillo y voltealo al derecho. Utiliza las cintas decorativas para adornar.
-Sew the the tow pieces for the pocket and put on the right. Put the rick rack laces to decorate.

-Coloca el bolsillo en cualquier parte del mandil ( donde te acomode mejor ) . Cose alrededor de esta figura, dejando un espacio abierto, en la cual te quepa la mano.

-Put the pocket piece in any place you want on the apron. Sew around this figure, leaving a open space, in which the hand fits to you.

-Une la banda del dobladillo con el rectángulo el cual será tu mandil, ( si tienes una maquina over lock, cose la union para quitar los extremos desilachados que quedan al unir estas partes).
-Sew the apron piece and the band hem, (if you have a over Lock, sews the union to clear the ugly part of the fabric).

-Con un hilo y aguja haz un pespunte en la falda y jala el hilo para que te quede rizada la falda.
-Gather upper edge of apron with a long stitch.

-Decora la banda de la cintura con las cintas de decoracion, en la parte superior.
-Decorate the band of the waist with the rick rack lace on the top of the apron.

-Centra por la parte interior, la falda rizada en la banda de la cintura doblala y cosela cerrando la banda de la cintura junto con la falda.
-Match centers and edges. Gather the fabric, distribute the gathers evenly, and pin them to the waistband and sew.

-Termina de decorar banda de la cintura con las cintas.
-Sew the last rick rack lace.

-Y listo ya haz terminado.
-And is already finished.
